What's Happening in Easton This Week

EASTON, Conn. – A tag sale at the Easton Senior Center, a baby music and movement class and an Easton Parks and Recreation Commission meeting are just some of the events happening in Easton this week. Here are some of the highlights:

Monday

8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: The Easton Senior Center is having a weeklong tag sale where residents can purchase household items, small electronics, baby items and toys. The sale will be from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to noon Friday. The Senior Center is at 650 Morehouse Road.

4 p.m.: The Junior Book Club will meet at the Easton Public Library to discuss the book “The BFG” by Ronald Dahl. The club is open to children in grades 3-5. The library is at 691 Morehouse Road.

7:30 p.m.: The Easton Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at the Parks and Recreation offices, 652 Morehouse Road.

Tuesday

10:30 a.m.: Get the little ones moving and grooving this morning at the Easton Public Library’s Baby/Toddler Movement and Music Class. The exercise is open to children ages 6-36 months. It will last about 25 minutes and incorporates popular children’s songs, finger plays and simple stories, while utilizing props, such as puppets, musical instruments and rhythm sticks. The program will take place again at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

2:15 p.m.: Children ages 3 and up are welcome to the Easton Public Library’s Preschool Story Time program. Children will listen to a series of books read aloud, followed by creating a craft based on the books they just read.

Wednesday

4 p.m.: Children in grades kindergarten through second can create a penguin ornament as part of the Children’s Arts and Craft program at the Easton Public Library. Registration is required for this event; please contact the library at 203-261-0134.

6 p.m.: The Easton Democrat Town Committee will meet at the Easton Public Library.

6:30 p.m.: The Region 9 Board of Education Curriculum Committee will meet at Joel Barlow High School, 100 Black Rock Turnpike.

Thursday

2:15 p.m.: Children ages 3 and up are welcome to the Easton Public Library’s Preschool Story Time program. Children will listen to a series of book read aloud which will be followed by creating a craft based on the books they just read.
