Temporary Memorial Day Road Closures Scheduled On I-95
Exit 16 ramps along Interstate-95 will be closed on Monday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the Norwalk Memorial Day Parade. The Norwalk Police Department announced the temporary road closure. The parade starts at Veterans Park in East Norwalk and proceeds east on Van Zant Street, then north on East Avenue prior to concluding at the Norwalk Green. Merritt Parkway Reopens After Crash Causes Closure
This story has been updated.A stretch of the Merritt Parkway has reopened Sunday afternoon following a serious crash that caused its closure for more than an hour. The closure, reported around 2:45 p.m., occurred on the southbound lanes between Exit 49 (Connecticut 25) and Exit 48 (Connecticut 111/Main Street) in Bridgeport.

Expect Delays: Long Ridge Road Resurfacing Starts
There will be lane closures in Stamford for several days as crews begin a road resurfacing project in on Long Ridge Road. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, May 14, there will be a 2.7-mile project performed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the road that is expected to last through Friday, May 18. During the scope of the project, lane closures have been scheduled on Long Ridge Road from the .28 mile north of Route 15 underpass to the 0.11 mile south of Riverbank Road. Crash Damaging Pole Causes Road Closure In Stamford
Motorists should take note that a roadway in Stamford remains closed Monday morning following a traffic crash that damaged a power pole, according to Stamford Police. Power company employees are replacing the pole on Pepper Ridge at Vine Road that was smashed during the crash around 8 p.m. Sunday, police said. Police said Pepper Ridge Road will remain closed until the repairs are complete, and did not have an exact time estimate. Officers did not have information on the crash, or if anyone was injured. Van Plunges Off Overpass On Bronx River Parkway In Westchester
Traffic was tied up on the Bronx River Parkway during Thursday’s morning commute when a van flew off the Cross County overpass in Yonkers, coming to a crashing half below. The driver of a van was hospitalized with minor injuries after he was driving up the westbound ramp of the Cross County Parkway shortly before 6:30 a.m. when he lost control on the curved roadway, went through the guardrail, off the edge and landed in the median of the Bronx River Parkway, police said. Traffic Alert Issued As Route 59 Work Starts
Motorists planning on traveling on Route 59 in Easton can expect slight delays in the area as crews begin efforts to replace the guardrail system and cut trees for several days. The Connecticut Department of Transportation will begin replacing the guardrail daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 16, during which time, there are expected to be delays along different parts of Route 59. Periods of heavy rain, combined with strong winds, resulted in delays throughout Fairfield County during the Monday morning commute with downed trees also being reported. Downed trees closed two roads in Greenwich: Davis Avenue at Wilbur Peck Court and Glenville Road closed between Midwood Road and Valley Drive. Crash On Merritt Causes Gridlock During Evening Commute
This story has been updated. A crash that initially took out the left lane caused gridlock on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County during much of the Monday evening commute. The northbound crash occurred between North Street (Exit 31) and Den Road (Exit 33), with stop-and-go delays to Lake Avenue (Exit 29). Delays of up to 25-30 minutes were reported while the lane was blocked.
