Winter Soccer Kicks Off in Easton

Soccer will be a family affair this winter at the Easton Community Center. The center will offer Parent and Child Soccer, Street Soccer, Family Indoor Soccer, Children's Indoor Soccer and Soccercise in the warmth of its  gym.

Soccercise ($200 members/$240 non-members, begins Jan. 9) lets young athletes get in shape and keep their  soccer skills sharp year-round. The sessions concentrate  not just on fitness but on coordination and agility as well as speed. The sessions will be set out as a circuit with six to eight stations. Each station represents a different skill. The classes begin with warmups and end with a cool-down.

Family Indoor Soccer ($25 members/$35 non-members, begins Jan. 15) gives adults play time with the kids and helps them stay in shape. Players of all levels are welcome. Teams are formed the morning of the games and participants are encouraged to bring spouses, relatives and friends. Parent and Child Soccer ($65 members/$85 non-members, begins Jan. 19) is an interactive class where parents and instructors introduce kids to soccer. Children's Indoor Soccer ($65 members/$85 non-members, begins Jan. 19) will teach basic skills to 4- to 6-year-olds, with an emphasis on sharing the ball.

Lastly, Street Soccer ($35 members/$45 non-members, begins Jan. 15) is a fast-paced version of the game with teams of six to eight. The clock does not stop and neither should the fun.
