Westport Little League Puts Unbeaten Record On The Line

WESTPORT, Conn. – The Westport 12-and-under Little League All-Stars put its undefeated record on the line Wednesday in their final pool play game in the New England Regional in Bristol.

Westport is 3-0, the only undefeated team in the six-team regional. The All-Stars play Newton, Mass., at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Westport will advance to the semifinals on Thursday, and will play at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. The semifinal winners advance to the championship game Saturday at 7 p.m. The New England champion heads to Williamsport, Pa., for the Little League World Series.

It won Monday’s game over Rye, N.H., 12-2. Westport broke the game open with six runs in the first inning and added five in the third. Harry Azadian had two RBIs and two hits for Westport. Max Stone ripped two doubles. Azadian and Charlie Roof combined to allow just four hits.

Westport is undefeated this summer in District 2, Section 1, state and New England competition. The state title was the first in the history of the Westport program.
