Westport Gymnast Natalie Parker Takes First At State Championships

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Ten-year-old Westport gymnast Natalie Parker took first place overall in her age group at the 2014 Connecticut State Championships earlier this month.

Natalie is a fifth-grader at Greens Farms Academy. She is a level 4 USA Gymnastics gymnast who trains at Arena Gymnastics in Stamford. 

She placed first on vault with a score of 9.275, first on floor with a score of 9.3 and first on beam with a score of 9.55. She placed second on bars with a 9.0. Natalie placed first in the All Around category with a final score of 37.125.

Her level 4 team from Arena Gymnastics also came in first place in the state.

"She has worked very hard this year and it has paid off with a very successful outcome," a press release said. 

In the fall, Parker won first place at the Muriel Grossfeld Invitational Gymnastics meet at Southern Connecticut State University.
