WESTON, Conn. Girls in grades 1 through 8 are invited to Weston's first Annual Cheer Extravaganza on Friday, May 4, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the Weston Intermediate School gym.
Lady Trojan cheerleaders will lead participants in cheers, dance routines and games for an afternoon of fun and school spirit under the direction of Weston Trojans Youth Football and Cheer coach Maria Terrell and Weston High School Varsity cheerleading coach Kelley Coleman.
We encourage girls of all levels of interest in cheer to join us, said Kathie Fitzgerald, vice president of cheer for Weston Trojans Youth Football and Cheer. Even if cheerleading isnt their sport, learning a quick dance or cheer routine and trying it out as a group is a lot of fun. And if they are into cheerleading, this will be a unique opportunity to meet the varsity squad and coaches and share their interest and enthusiasm.
