Bedford's Blue/Gold Student Council is hosting a crutch drive now through May 17. Donations can be dropped off in the school’s main lobby weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Your donation can enable a child to attend school and be an active participant in family and communal life,” a statement from the school said. “Join us in giving the gift of mobility, independence and hope to someone in need.”

Crutches of all sizes will be accepted. All donations must be in good condition and not missing any parts.

In 2010, Bedford students collected hundreds of crutches which were donated to survivors of the Haiti earthquake.
