Westport School Chief Gets Raise

WESTPORT, Conn. – Come July 1, 2012, Superintendent of Westport schools Elliott Landon will earn more money to lead the school system. On Monday night, the Board of Education unanimously approved a two-year contract extension for Landon that includes a 2 percent pay increase.

Currently, Landon — who has been the superintendent since 1999 — earns $282,000 a year. The increase will bring his annual salary up to about $288,000. Unlike his current contract, however, no performance bonus was worked into the new contract, which extends his tenure through June 30, 2014. If not extended, Landon's contract would expire June 30, 2012.
