The forums will take place Tuesday, Sept. 1 from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Saugatuck Elementary Auditorium and Thursday, Sept. 10 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Town Hall Auditorium. All parents and the Westport community are invited and encouraged to attend.

In addition, starting the week of Aug. 31 and lasting through mid-September, HYA will conduct an online survey of the community on the qualities of the next superintendent.

"As we have said since the beginning, we are committed to a process that will offer our stakeholders the opportunity to share their views about the needs of the school system and the qualities of the superintendent that will meet those needs,” said Board of Education Chair Michael Gordon. “These forums and the online survey are important opportunities for parents and all stakeholders to lend their voices to the search."

Soliciting community input is the first step of the superintendent search. After receiving input from all stakeholders, HYA will help the board in the coming months with the planning, recruitment, selection and transition phase.
