WESTPORT, Conn. Westport's four Board of Education candidates will go head-to-head Monday night in a debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Westport, the Westport Woman's Club and the Y's Women.
During the debate, candidates will answer questions submitted by audience members. They will also have the opportunity to give closing statements.
Participants include Democratic incumbent Mark Mathias, Democrat Michael Gordon, Republican Jeannie Smith and Republican Jennifer Tooker. Members of the Westport electorate are urged to attend. The debate will take place in the Town Hall auditorium from 7 to 8 p.m.
If you can't attend the debate, it will be broadcast on Cablevision Channel 79 (Channel 99 for AT&T subscribers) and viewers will be able to submit questions electronically by emailing lwvdebates@gmail.com. The debate will be rebroadcast Friday, Oct. 7, through Sunday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m.
