Chairwoman Of Westport School Board To Leave Top Post

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Elaine Whitney, chairwoman of the Westport Board of Education, announced she will step down from her position, according to the Westport News.

She made the announcement at a meeting on Monday, Nov. 10, the Westport News said. 

Whitney has served as chairwoman since 2012, when she took over for Jim Marpe after his successful campaign for firs selectman. She was unanimously re-elected for the spot in 2013, the Westport News reported. 

No discussion was made about a replacement at the meeting, the Westport News said.
