2 Weston Students Wrap-Up Honors In C-span Documentary Contest

WESTON, Conn. -- Two student filmmakers from Weston were recently recognized by C-SPAN for documentaries that shine a spotlight on important issues.

Weston High School junior Nathan Katz placed third in his category in the C-SPAN StudentCam Documentary Competition. 

The annual documentary competition encourages students to think critically about issues that effect the community and nation.

Nathan Katz's film, "Corporate Hypocrisy: Mergers and Acquisitions," placed in the Top 60 of the 2,903 films that were submitted from 46 states, as well as Washington D.C., England, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan.

Fellow Weston High junior Michael Bogaev also received an honorable mention for his film, "Syrian Refugee Crisis." Bogaev placed in the Top 150 submissions.
