William Joseph Fredrickson, 96, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- William Joseph Fredrickson, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, May 5. He was 96.

Born Nov.15, 1919, in Cornwall, he was the son of Augustus and Mary Finch Fredrickson.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A carpenter by trade, he loved to work.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; his children, Jeffery and Pamela Fredrickson, George and Mary Fredrickson, Philip and Nancy Fredrickson, William and Tonya Fredrickson, and Michele and Stephen Drevlow; his grandchildren, Jeffery, Maureen, Malia, Joel, Jason, Philip, Tyler and Cody Fredrickson, Christine Parker, Nicole and Stephen Drevlow; and his great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kaelyn Parker.

He was predeceased by his daughters, Phyliss Anderson and Kimberly Pectle.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 10, from 4-7 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 11, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Care Center.
