Construction Set to Begin on Saugatuck Center

A Westport property used for decades as a stone and mason supply yard by the Gault Company will soon become a mixed-use project including 4,000 square feet of street level retail space, 5,000 square feet of office space, and residential apartments--all aimed at "bringing neighborhood back" to Saugatuck, according to the plan's designers.

Construction on Saugatuck Center, slated to open in 2011, will begin later this month, and real estate broker Peter Lane is handling the combination of 21 second floor rental properties and 6 waterside condominiums, all on Riverside Avenue directly across from the Saugatuck River and within walking distance of the Westport Metro-North station.
