The Westport Office of Emergency Management is encouraging residents to submit comments on the plan. A 30-day comment period on the DRAFT Substantial Amendment CDBG-DR Action Plan began on Feb. 14 and will end on March 20.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development released a Federal Register Notice announcing the second allocation of CDBG-DR funding to Connecticut as appropriated by the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act, 2013. Connecticut’s second allocation is for $66 million to address infrastructure and mitigation, as well as any remaining unmet housing needs as a result of Superstorm Sandy.

A survey form was created and used to update the unmet needs data from the original action plan. The data was then reviewed and analyzed to formulate the specific funding activities contained in the DRAFT Substantial Amendment CDBG-DR Action Plan.

All comments received will be summarized and responded to in the Substantial Amendment CDBG-DR Action Plan submitted to HUD. For a copy of the DRAFT Substantial Amendment CDBG-DR Action Plan and related information, please refer to the Department of Housing website Hurricane Sandy page.
