WESTPORT, Conn. – The Dodge-A-Cop student/police dodgeball tournament scheduled for Friday night at Staples High School has been postponed “out of respect to the tragic loss of life in Newtown” following the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, Westport Police Chief Dale Call announced.
“The Westport Police Department extends its deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by the tragedy which occurred in Newtown [Friday] morning,” Call said in a statement.
The Westport Police Department, he added, has offered to help the Newtown Police Department in any way required.
