Officers were called to Kohl's after an employee thought a man trying to return goods at the customer service desk had stolen them from the store, police said. A brief investigation proved that was not true, but police asked the man for identification and he said it was outside in a car, police said.

Officers went to the car and found 21-year-old Carolina Rivera, of Eleven O’Clock Road, who was acting suspiciously, police said. Upon searching the car for the man’s ID, officers found wax folds and bags containing what was determined to be heroin and cocaine and one pill of the prescription drug Alprazolam in the woman’s wallet, police said. Officers also found empty wax folds, bags and straws, according to the report.

Rivera was charged with two counts of possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $500, and she is expected to appear in court on Jan. 15.
