WESTPORT, Conn., -- A 60-year-old Weston man was charged with first-degree stalking after he was found lurking outside the restaurant where a person he was to have no contact with was located.
Thomas Gionis, 60 of 317 Goodhill Road was also charged with criminal violation of a restraining order and violation of a restraining order. He posted a $300,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Police said they were called to the Pearl Restaurant at 260 Compo Road South on a report of a possible stalking. Police said the complainant had been previously a victim of stalking by the suspect and that Gionis was seen outside the restaurant while the complainant was inside.
When police arrived they spotted a man with a hoodie standing under a large tree at the restaurant. Police said the man spotted police, dropped his head and began to walk away.
After police stopped and identified Gionis, he answered "Yeah, I do" when police asked if he knew why police were called, police said.
