Officers and detectives were investigating reports over the past several months that Mark Yarish, 51, was providing illicit substances to minors in and around Darien, police said. They developed evidence that he was taking orders for alcohol via text messages and phone calls, buying the alcohol at local establishments, and delivering it to teens from Darien at a substantial markup, according to police.
Police conducted surveillance over the past two months and confirmed the accusations, according to police. A warrant was granted for his arrest, and he was taken into custody on Friday.
Yarish was charged with felony counts of providing alcohol to minors and risk of injury to a minor. He was released on a $40,000 and will appear in court on July 31. Police said Yarish was also ordered not to have ay contact with minors until his court date.
