Man Charged With Driving Into Building In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – A 53-year-old Bridgeport man was charged with drunken driving in Westport Thursday morning after he crashed into an office building, police said.

George Arias was trapped in his SUV after it crashed into 468 Post Road E. at approximately 12:30 a.m., Sgt. Eric Woods said in a release. He was freed from the vehicle by Westport firefighters and had suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Once out, Arias refused medical attention from Westport EMS, Woods said. In addition to driving under the influence, he was charged with failure to drive in an established lane. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is due in court on July 12.
