Bridgeport Man Struck, Killed By Two Cars On Route 8 Ramp In Waterbury

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was struck by two cars and killed in an accident early Saturday in Waterbury, according to Connecticut State Police.

Melvin Gordils, 26, a pedestrian, was struck by two cars at the on-ramp for I-84 west from Route 8 southbound at about 2 a.m. Saturday, state police said. 

The vehicles that struck Gordils remained on the scene and cooperated with state police. 

Route 8 southbound at Exit 33 and the connector for I-84 was closed for four hours while state police investigated.

It was not clear why Gordils was walking along the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
