Bridgeport Man Faces Charges After Westport Police Chase

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A 34-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on charges of engaging Westport police in a chase after a shoplifting incident, police said. 

Brandon Shail was arrested at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 17, in connection with the April pursuit, which occurred after he was questioned about a theft from Izzo’s Garden Center, police said.

Shail was charged with engaging in pursuit, operating under suspension, third-degree criminal trespass and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on $15,000 court-set bond.

Also on the police blotter: 

Jean Mica, 29, of Westport, was arrested at 4:30 p.m., May 16, in connection with a domestic incident, police said. Mica's live-in girlfriend made the complaint, police said. 

He was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree unlawful restraint. He was released on $5,000 bond for a Tuesday, May 19 appearance in Norwalk Superior Court. The outcome of the court appearance was not known.
