FELTON, Del. - Terry Dean Gillette of Felton, formerly of Easton, Conn., died Monday April 21. He was 75.
Gillette was born July 9, 1938, in Bridgeport, to George and Lorraine Seeley Gillette. He served on the Monroe Police Force, retiring after 35 years in 1999, as a lieutenant. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy. After moving to Felton, he worked for the Camden, Del. Police Department as dispatcher for 10 years, and most recently for Justice of the Peace Court #16 as a constable. He was a 32nd degree Mason, past master and secretary of Washington Lodge #19, in Monroe, and current secretary of Union Lodge #7 in Dover. He also was past patron of Lady Martha Chapter #103 of the Order of Eastern Star.
Gillette is survived by his wife, Irene Gallant Gillette of Felton; daughter, Cynthia Karr (Bryan) of Monroe; son, Mark Gillette of Ansonia; stepdaughters, Bonnie Beardsley (Gregory) of Monroe, Diane Mucherino of Bethlehem and Janine Valenti (John) of Felton; stepsons, Scott Mucherino (Kim) of Oxford, Vincent Alascia (Jamie) of Goodyear, Ariz., and William Alascia of Shelton, Conn.; brother, Gregory (Grogg) Gillette (Wendy) of Columbia, S.C.; sister, Pamela Visokay (Walter) of Columbia, S.C.; and many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are Monday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. A Masonic Ritual will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
