Tillson was born in Bridgeport on Sept. 14, 1965, the daughter of Charlene Schliebe Tillson of Bridgeport and the late Thomas A. Tillson Sr.

She was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1983 and also attended the University of Connecticut.

A 21-year veteran of the Bridgeport Police Department, Tillson worked her way up to earn the rank of sergeant. Throughout her career, she received many accommodations and awards, including the Medal of Merit. She was a former member of the Police Honor Guard.

But above all of her accomplishments and roles in life, none was greater than that of mother. She was at her best when she was spending time and creating lifelong memories with her daughter, Ainsley Tillson Lougal. She was always there to assist with her daughter's dance and theatre. She also loved cooking for family and friends and enjoyed family vacations.

In addition to her mother and daughter, she is survived by her husband, Steven Lougal; her two stepdaughters, Alexandria and Tabitha Lougal of East Haven; granddaughter, Marlena; brother, Thomas A. “TJ” Tillson Jr. and his wife Marie of Shelton; nephews and niece, Thomas A. “Alex” Tillson III, Mason and Fischer Lougal and Parker Lougal; mother-in-law, Jan Lougal of East Haven; brother-in-law Scott Lougal and his wife Tricia of Branford; sister-in-law Tami Speer and her husband Stan of East Haven; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her dear colleagues whom she considered family at the Bridgeport Police Department.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

Funeral services will take place Friday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. directly in Olivet Congregational Church, 2102 Main St., Bridgeport.

Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Mt. Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, 111 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
