Robert F. Lasprogato, 71, Longtime Westport Resident

WESTPORT, Conn. - Robert F. Lasprogato of Westport died June 3. He was 71.

Lasprogato was born in Norwalk, son of Patrick and Marion A. Lasprogato. He has been a resident of Westport for 22 years. Currently the registrar of voters and a former selectman of Westport, he was a member and former VP of Sunrise Rotary, Sons of Italy, and Justice of the Peace. He was a well- known radio personality at many Connecticut radio stations. A drummer and leader of the Uptown Jazz Band, he traveled through Europe with the Easy Riders Jazz Band. He was a member of many organizations including 1st V.P. of CT. State SAR, past president of Roger Sherman Branch SAR, Police Commissioners Assn. of CT., Westport Community Theater, past master of Old Well Masonic Lodge, past monarch of Monker Grotto and a member of Temple Lodge.

Lasprogato is survived by his wife Joan; daughter, Jamie Goodman (Mike); sister, Barbara Lasprogato of N.C.; stepsons, George Kleros (Cathy), James; stepdaughter, Joan Waters (Brian); nephew and niece; seven grandchildren; a great granddaughter; a great nephew; many cousins; and friends. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Friday, June 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Christ and Holy Trinity Church Chapel, 55 Myrtle Ave., Westport. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8 at Christ and Holy Trinity Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ and Holy Trinity Church Children’s Ministry, or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
