What's Happening in Westport This Week

WESTPORT, Conn. – Westport is back to business after last week’s April vacation. Registered Republicans will head to their polling places to vote in the presidential primary Tuesday. Also this week, the Planning and Zoning Commission will meet to discuss two proposals. Here’s a look at other events happening in Westport this week.

Monday, April 23

? Parks and Recreation Commission, 7:30 p.m.: The Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a public meeting in Room 201/201A of Town Hall to discuss various items, including possibly extending the beach season. View the meeting agenda online.

? RTM Environment Committee, 7:30 p.m.: The Representative Town Meeting's Environment Committee is meeting in Town Hall Room 309 to discuss the use of pesticides on school properties. View the agenda here.

Tuesday, April 24

? Presidential primary, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Westport’s polling places will be open for the Republican presidential primary. Only Republican Party members registered to vote in Westport by Monday at noon will be allowed to vote.

? Downtown 2020 Committee, 8:30 a.m.: The Downtown 202 Committee is meeting in Room 307 of Town Hall. The agenda is available online.

? Westport 2025 Talk, 7:30 p.m.: Four Westport school administrators will present an overview of Westport 2025, the district’s plan on how to better educate students to become global thinkers. The discussion will be held in the McManus Room at the Westport Library.

Wednesday, April 25

? Deer Management Committee, 7:30 p.m.: The Deer Management Committee is holding a public meeting in Room 309 of Town Hall. View the agenda online.

Thursday, April 26

? iPad Workshop, 10 a.m.:  Learn how to take your iPad to the next level at the Westport Library during a workshop led by Assistant Library Director Bill Derry in the McManus Room.

? Planning and Zoning Commission, 7 p.m.: The Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a public hearing in the Town Hall Auditorium. One item up for discussion is a proposed change to the town’s outdoor dining regulation. The agenda is available for viewing online.
