Westport Residents Invited To Meeting On Merritt Parkway Resurfacing

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Connecticut Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting for proposed projects affecting both Fairfield and Westport that involve resurfacing, safety improvements, enhancements and bridge improvements on the Merritt Parkway (Route 15).

One meeting was held last week in Westport. A second meeting will take place in Fairfield on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at North Stratfield Elementary School, 190 Putting Green Road, Fairfield, which is off of Stratfield Road, Route 59.

Residents of both Fairfield and Westport are welcome to attend.

In the event the meeting is canceled due to bad weather, it will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Fairfield, same time and location.

ConnDOT personnel and Fairfield officials will be available during the Fairfield meeting to discuss these projects and will have plans of the proposed projects on display for public review at the meetings. 

More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays. 

A map of the proposed projects is also available for review at the Engineering Department in Fairfield’s Independence Hall, 725 Old Post Road, and at the Westport Town Hall.
