WESTPORT, Conn. – The Bridge Street bridge in the Saugatuck section of Westport will be temporarily closed from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 3 a.m. Thursday, the Westport Police Department announced Tuesday.

The bridge will be closed to allow lighting to be updated, police said. Drivers are asked to consider using the Route 1 bridge as an alternate route during this time.

CL&P Reports Power Outages In Westport

WESTPORT/NORWALK, Conn. -- A total of 66 customers were without power in Westport and 35 customers in Norwalk at about 2:45 p.m. Friday, Connecticut Light & Power reported.

That represents less than 1 percent of the customers in each town. No cause or location was given, but heavy rain has fallen in the past 24 hours.
