10 a.m. update: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Delays are increasing on the New Haven Line, with systemwide train delays of 45 to 60 minutes due to power problems caused by the bad weather, Metro-North reported at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
New Haven Line westbound trains will not stop between Old Greenwich and Cos Cob. Customers should travel eastbound to Stamford, where they can transfer for westbound service to access those stations.
Riders are advised to listen for announcements at train stations.
Original story: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Commuters who headed out Wednesday morning and chose to travel by train are facing large delays, Metro-North announced.
Riders on the New Haven Line should anticipate systemwide delays of up to 30 minutes due to power problems caused by severe weather conditions, Metro-North said. Similar delays were reported on the Hudson and Harlem lines in New York.
New Canaan Branch service was suspended at about 8:30 a.m. due to power problems in the vicinity of Talmadge Hill caused by severe weather conditions but returned to service a bit later.
