Shirtless Stranger Enters Family Home

Weston police responded to a call at 41 N. Calvin Road last Thursday after a stranger allegedly entered the home without a shirt and started yelling at the woman inside who was washing the dishes with her three children nearby.

The family has been renting a part of the house and did not know the man, identified as Philip Curry, who said he was visiting the homeowner.

The woman called her husband, who was working down the street. When he arrived in moments, Curry began yelling at him and using derogatory names. When the husband asked Curry to leave, he struck the husband in the face. The husband hit the intruder and knocked him unconscious.

When police arrived and found Curry lying on a bed without a shirt, they tried to wake him. He was "somewhat coherent" and seemed to be intoxicated, according to police reports.

The homeowner reportedly said, "This guy's a bum, and I never invited him to come here."

Curry said he did not know he was trespassing and reportedly said, "I want you to kick those Puerto Ricans out of this house."

E.M.S. treated Curry for injuries to his face. He was issued a summons at the hospital and released on a written promise to appear. Curry is set to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 10.
