Jewelry Grabbed From Westport Store, Police Say

WESTPORT, Conn. — A thief scooped up two bags of jewelry at a Main Street store Monday morning and fled, Westport police say.

The owner was working inside Mikol & Company, at 60 Main St., when the man entered and took the bags, Westport police said. An alarm was activated and police were alerted at about 11 a.m.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5-foot-10 and in his 40s, wearing a blue shirt and gray pants and carrying two plastic bags taken from the store, police said.

Anyone who was near Main Street on Monday morning and may have seen the suspect is asked to contact the Westport Police Department at 203-341-6000.
