The reopening will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for noon, First Selectman Jim Marpe announced.

The station went through a major renovation last year. It was restored using original lumber, lighting fixtures and windows. Two new handicap accessible bathrooms were installed along with new heating and cooling systems.

Included with the updates to the building were solar panels installed on the roof, which will supply electricity to the building and to four electric vehicle charging stations.

“The station was restored with the intentions of improving the commuting experience and with completion of the coffee concession at the Saugatuck Station, the building is now ready to be open to the public,” Marpe said in a release.
