WESTPORT, Conn. – Moffly Media presented the 7th annual Light a Fire Awards on Thursday, Nov. 13.
The event, which celebrates the community’s nonprofit and philanthropic leaders, was held at the Westport Country Playhouse in the Jason Robards Theater and was hosted by Kendra Farn of PGaryn Productions.
A cocktail reception catered by Marcia Selden Catering and Event Planning accompanied by wines provided by Tarry Lodge preceded the awards ceremony.
The event was made possible by title sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors, George Venizelos Managing Director – Investments, together with community sponsors Karl Chevrolet -New Canaan and Barbara Zaccagnini of Coldwell Banker.
A portion of the night’s ticket proceeds benefited the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.
Light a Fire saluted those who have gone beyond the ordinary to extraordinary in their giving back to the community. From philanthropists and volunteers to organizations helping families, women, teens, and so many others in our community, the honorees are a truly unique group.
This year’s honorees were Medha Thomas, (Best Friend to Women), Alexandra Wallace- Currie ( Outstanding Grassroots Pioneer), Andy Fox ( Business Good Neighbor), Julie Faryniarz ( Outstanding Education Advocate), Kevin Wing (Outstanding Teen Volunteer), Dana and Michael McCreesh, (Best Health Advocates) Richard Hokin, (Outstanding Environmental Advocate) , Mary Fetchet (Best Friend to Families) and Patricia and Robert Phillips (Lifetime Achievement).
