Letter: Gilbert Passionate, Committed to Weston

I have known Dan Gilbert since his move to Weston - long before his "politicking" days.

When Dan first mentioned running for first selectmen, I asked him "Why," I immediately knew. He cares greatly for his community and wanted to commit his time and talent to make Weston an even better place to live. Dan is an intelligent, caring man not afraid to tackle the most difficult task.

We have worked side by side on numerous Americares/Homefront projects over many years, helping needy homeowners rehabilitate their homes. Many a Sunday afternoon, Dan spends feeding the needy and homeless at the Norwalk soup kitchen. Many Wednesdays, he volunteers serving meals at the senior luncheon. Remaining time is given to projects  too numerous to mention around St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Weston is fortunate to have the leadership, dedication and commitment of a person like Dan Gilbert.
