Friends nominated homeowners Jordan and Freer Ferenc in the contest, saying they “really deserve to catch a break.”
Jordan Ferenc has HERNS disease, a rare condition that has caused him to lose much of his eyesight and left him unable to work. His wife Freer is an elementary school teacher in Greenwich and they have a daughter in kindergarten.
“We are incredibly grateful to have won this amazing gift,” Jordan Ferenc said. “Thank you to everyone who voted for our family.”
New Canaan-based Prizio Roofing & Siding has scheduled to roof work for Oct. 25 and several local businesses are partnering to make the day a success.
Metro Roofing Supplies will donate nails, fasteners, plywood and other accessories, while MDM Sanitation will provide a dumpster and refuse removal. Joe’s Pizza of New Canaan will provide lunch for the crew and the Ferencs.
“Local businesses have come forward to show their support for this initiative and we’re thrilled to have them as partners in this program,” said Jonathan Prizio, owner of the roofing company.
No Roof Left Behind is a nationwide program that gives people a way to help their neighbors who may have fallen on hard times.
