WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Weston Family YMCA will commemorate the first year of operations at its new facility on its Mahackeno campus by hosting an open house on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The open house will be open to members of the YMCA and all residents from the communities it serves.
In addition to the YMCA’s regularly scheduled group-fitness classes and open times in the pools, gymnasium and other program spaces, the day-long celebration will feature a variety of special activities and health and wellness presentations.
These include a flu shot clinic, blood pressure screenings as well as free demonstrations and consultations from local health-care experts.
The first anniversary celebration will also include a luncheon at noon for members of the YMCA’s Ambassador Club – those who have belonged to the Family YMCA, or any other YMCA, for 25 years or more.
“We’ve had a wonderful first year in our modern new home, which has allowed us to serve longtime and new members like never before,” said Brian Marazzi, director of membership engagement.
“Our First Anniversary party will showcase what we offer members each and every day, and also highlight some special opportunities, like a series of 20-minute small group training sessions in our Wellness Center that members and guests can drop-in on. Plus, there will be cake!”
