Thanksgiving Goes to the Dogs - And They Dig It

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - If your travel plans do not include the family pet this holiday weekend, don’t feel too bad about boarding him or her. Not, that is, if your dog is spending the weekend at Best Friends Pet Care in Norwalk.

For the fifth year, Best Friends Pet Care will host a feast fit for furry friends on Thanksgiving Day who are not able to dine with their families. The meal will feature freshly roasted slices of turkey on top of turkey-and-rice dog food, and trimmed with green beans and carrots. Sweet potato biscuits will be served for dessert.

In the holiday spirit of sharing, canine guests will not be the only ones included in the Thanksgiving celebration: Best Friends will donate holiday meals to a local animal shelter so that homeless pets have the chance to enjoy a special treat, too.
