And Westport Library aims to help with a family yoga night to teach them how to chill out and stay energizes for their first year of big-kid school.
“The days and weeks leading up to the start of kindergarten can be a stressful time for both kids and their parents,” said Children’s Librarian Lynne Perrigo. “We thought this would be a unique way to give students the chance to chill out and relax with their families and with one another here at the library.”
The free session will run from 7 to 7:45 p.m., Aug. 23, and each child must be accompanied by an adult partner.
Kids, who will learn classic yoga poses, should bring their own mats. The library has a limited supply of mats available to share. To reserve one, contact Perrigo at lperrigo@westportlibrary.org.
Registration is required. To register, find the event at westportlibrary.org.
