Before being forced to give her up, Mia's previous owner loved her dearly, and originally rescued her from a man who used her for breeding, Westport Animal Control said. Mia has had a couple of litters of puppies in her lifetime.
Mia is 10 years old and loves sitting in the sun outside. She's a little overweight, and has been given the nickname "Miss Piggy" by staff at the Westport shelter because she sometimes grunts like a pig.
Animal Control says that Mia would do best as the only dog in the house, and does not like cats very much.
Mia is now looking for a new family to give her a forever home. For more information on Mia, contact Westport Animal Control at (203) 341-5076.
