Meditate, Strengthen With Qigong At Westport Library

WESTPORT, Conn. – Dr. Mark J. Romano, a naturopathic physician, and Sheng Zhen, a Qigong teacher, will lead a short practice of Qigong, the Chinese system of healing and energy medicine, Friday, Aug. 7, at noon outside next to the Westport Library’s Riverwalk (lower level).

Qigong is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement and meditation to cleanse, strengthen and circulate “life energy,” or qi. The practice aims to improve health, vitality and tranquility.

Qigong includes both dynamic and gentle techniques, and is suitable for people of all ages.

Romano is a certified Sheng Zhen Qigong teacher and naturopathic physician at Barefoot Medical Arts. He trained under the guidance of respected Qigong Master Li Jun Feng and has been teaching Sheng Zhen Qigong since 2003. He holds an undergraduate degree with a specialization in human kinesiology and a doctorate of naturopathy.

The program is free and open to the public. Attendees should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
