The 8-year-old systems integration company has grown significantly since its start, and now solves complex issues for businesses, education facilities and health-care outlets.

At its root, though, Limelight is a customer-service based business for residential customers. Whether it’s rigging up an X-box to multiple rooms or activating security systems from destinations near and far, Limelight’s primary core value is providing products and customer service to Fairfield County homeowners.

“There is nobody that can install a system, engineer a system, turn it over when necessary and service it better than what we’ll be able to do,’’ said Scott Hovhannissian, the principal owner of Limelight and its chief technology architect. “We’re a small company with big company goals. Our service and our availability are what make us different. Our customers know that they can(count on us) call us.”

Limelight technicians are available 365 days a year, and there is usually no routing through a service desk. The company provides personal attention.

“We’ve had calls on Christmas day for three straight years,’’ Hovhannissian said. “We need to make sure those programs are up and running. Most of the time it’s client related. They call 24 hours a day and we respond.”

Limelight’s technicians can work their magic at homes of all shapes and sizes. Media rooms and home theaters, energy management, whole-home media distribution and automated heating, cooling, lighting and shading are some of the technological wonders Limelight’s team can weave into your home. Limelight’s home systems can be simple or sophisticated, depending on the client’s desires and how much they want to invest.

“A lot of times there will be a single control installed in a wall or wireless touch panel,’’ Hovhannissian said. “Anything can be controlled. If you can think of it, we can do it.”

Hovhannissian’s initial premise when he started the business was to focus on residential systems. The economic crash forced him into seeking out commercial work.

“It just kind of fell into our lap,’’ he said. “Word of mouth kept us busy, and we started to attract more commercial customers. Even though we have corporate clients, our primary target is and always has been residential customers.”

Hovhannissian said it can be difficult to keep up with changing technology, but believes the advancements have slowed in recent years. “You can’t keep up with technology,’’ he said. “You have to make sure what you’re providing is upgradeable. Everything is starting to be network based, which keeps things relevant for longer periods of time. Now, you can simply update software to add new features.”

Limelight plans to invite clients to its Westport studio in December to observe the process of systems integration, design development, engineering, product onboarding and project management. Homeowners, in particular, can catch a glimpse of how simple life can be with Limelight’s solutions.

“We want current and prospective clients to get the full user experience,’’ said Michael Janssen, Limelight’s Director of Operations and Client Services. “We’d like builders, architects, Realtors to see how we can enhance the value of homes. We’d like to show other people how we function as a business and how we can help out each other.”
