BLT Buys Westport Inn For $14.5M; Housing Plan Dropped

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A real estate and development firm purchased the Westport Inn for $14.5 million, effectively killing plans to demolish the current structure and replace it with 200 units of housing, according to the Westport News.

The buyer, Stamford-based Building & Land Technology, owns more than 50 hotels nationwide, the Westport News said. 

The Westport Inn recently was renovated and features meeting rooms, event space and a spa, the Westport News reported.
