Balduccis Honors Westport Little League Team With Slugger Sandwich

WESTPORT, Conn. – Next time you find yourself at Balducci’s Food Lovers Market, consider trying the Westport Slugger, a new sandwich created in honor of Westport's 12U All Stars Little League team.

The Westport Slugger is made with grilled chicken, chipotle lime marinade, Monterey jack cheese and roasted peppers. The sandwich, which comes with a bag of chips, was introduced to customers Friday and will be available through Sept. 21, a Balducci’s spokesperson said.

Earlier this summer, the 12U All Stars won the state and New England regional championships to advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. The team will play Chula Vista, Calif., Saturday, at 3 p.m. in the U.S. championship game.

Balducci’s is at 1385 Post Road E.
