The road work is being performed by Hammonasset Construction on the Sasco Creek Road underpass, according to the state DOT, which included the project in its 2016 bridge maintenance program.

Drivers on northbound I-95 should expect lane closures as the work progresses between exits 18 and 19 in Westport, according to the state DOT, which said that traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.

The work is to take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m., Monday-Friday, but the schedule is largely dependent on the weather, according to the statement.

Anyone driving in the area is urged to travel at a safe speed regardless of whether work is being performed.
