WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Board of Education made it official Monday night: Weston superintendent Colleen Palmer will replace Elliott Landon when he retires next summer from the job as Westport's superintendent, according to the Westport News.
Palmer has been superintendent in Weston since 2011 and was named Superintendent of the Year for 2016 by the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents. Her first job as school superintendent was in Monroe.
Palmer will succeed Landon when he retires July 1 after 17 years as superintendent in Westport, according to the Westport News.
Palmer has a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Connecticut and received a certificate in executive leadership from UConn and a master’s degree in K-12 counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. Her undergraduate degree in mathematics education is from the University of Connecticut.
