Alternate parking locations have been created to alleviate the loss of parking spaces while the construction is being completed. Commuters are reminded to allocate 5-10 additional minutes to their morning commute on Monday to become accustomed to the new parking areas.

Lot 1 will be closed on Saturday. Vehicles remaining in the lot will be towed at the owner’s expense. Lot 1 will not re-open until the projected completion date after Labor Day 2016. Temporary permit parking has been put in place and noted in the maps pictured, showing the location of temporary parking at both the Saugatuck and Greens Farms stations. During the construction, authorities encourage commuters to utilize the existing shuttle service that runs from the Imperial Avenue parking lot to the door of the Saugatuck train station whenever possible.

The Railroad Parking Division has been working with the Transit District to expand shuttle service if the need and ridership call for it. The department apologizes for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause the commuting public in the short term; however, the new lot will enhance future commuting experiences.

Additional police personnel will be on hand to assist commuters throughout the project and access to affected areas will be restored as the project progresses.
