WESTPORT, Conn., -- Thieves are having a bountiful December as motorists continue to leave their vehicles unlocked Westport Police have said.
Throughout the month thieves have used the cover of darkness and the laissez-faire attitude of motorists who continually leave their vehicles unlocked to steal items.
Westport Police reminds motorists to lock vehicles and bring keys inside. Valuables should be removed from the vehicle at night, such as cash, purses, wallets and electronics. It is also good practice to keep outside lights on and motion lights activated for vehicles parked in residential driveways. Please notify the Police Department if it appears a vehicle was entered or if anything suspicious was observed in the neighborhood.
