WESTPORT, Conn. — Two people face drug charges here after they agreed to sell cocaine to an undercover officer Thursday, police said.
On Wednesday, undercover officers in the Saugatuck area of town struck up a conversation with two suspects, later identified as Dean Wayton and Diana Balkun, police said.
Wayton offered to sell the officers cocaine the following day, police said.
He and Balkum made good on the offer on Thursday and a Westport officers stopped them in a car on Imperial Avenue and took them into custody, police said.
Wayton, 29, of no formal address, was charged with sale of a hallucinogen/narcotic, misrepresentation of a substance as a controlled substance and conspiracy to sell narcotics, police said.
He was held on $7,500 bond and was expected to be arraigned in court on Friday.
Balkun, 29, of Northford, was found in possession of heroin and Xanax, police said. She was charged with sale of a hallucinogen/narcotic, misrepresentation of a substance as a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy to sell narcotics, police said.
She was held on $10,000 bond and was also expected to be arraigned on Friday.
