Westport officers responded to Post Road East on a domestic disturbance call on Monday, May 23, police said.

Officers located the victim, who said that she and the suspect, identified as Joseph Tripodi, were arguing and that Tripodi pushed her to the ground, according to police.

The victim said she struck her head on the ground after being pushed, according to police reports.

The victim also alleged that she then tried to call 911, but Tripodi took the phone from her and held it over her head so she could not make the call, according to police.

Tripodi was arrested on Sunday, May 29, police said.

He has been charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call, according to officials.

He was held on a $5,000 bond with a court date Tuesday in Norwalk.
