WESTPORT, Conn. — Police arrested a Stamford woman on a larceny charge Monday, after a former employer noticed she posted photos on Facebook of herself wearing items she had stolen from the employer years ago, police said.
Lucy Pedroza, 52, also known as Lucy Chieco and Lucerito Pedroza, turned herself in after learning of an active warrant for her arrest.
Pedroza was charged with second-degree larceny, police said. She was released after posting $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on March 17, police said.
In August 2013, a Westport resident reported that several high-end handbags and jewelry had been stolen from her home between April 2011 and July 2013.
The victim believed her babysitter, Pedroza, was responsible and fired her, police said.
In December 2015, the victim contacted police again after she located a Facebook profile for Pedroza. In looking at her online photos, the victim was able to identify Pedroza wearing many of her stolen items, police said.
